Understand what Paint's pixel dimensions mean

Paint works primarily with bitmap pixels. Width and height tell you how many pixels the image contains, while DPI or PPI metadata supplies the intended physical scale. Changing one value does not automatically create more real detail.

For print planning, use the target printer density even if Paint or Windows reports 96 DPI. The same bitmap can be assigned a different physical size without changing its pixel count, but enlarging it reduces effective resolution.
